HOUSTON PRESS: Outlaw country favorite Elizabeth Cook has taken her life story and journey as an artist from song to the big screen. Cook stars in the recently released film The Easy Kind, a film by Katy Chevigny, revolving around Cook’s life blending truth and a little fiction.
INDIEWIRE: For a certain subset of country music fans — well, really, any kind of music fans — the name “Elizabeth Cook” conjures up clever tunes, dazzling outfits, and an attitude that never quite fit with the general expectations around ol’ Nashville.
VARIETY: ‘The Easy Kind’ has been acquired by Persimmon Pictures and will launch with an Oscar-qualifying theatrical run at the IFC Center beginning June 3, ahead of a wider rollout and August digital release.
To make an equally impactful video for the song, Wade enlisted Nikhil Melnechuk and Melissa Jackson, the team behind the upcoming film Daisy, in which Wade has a role. The singer wanted the video to be different than what she usually makes: “I wanted it to be cinematic. I wanted it to have a story.”
Mystic’s Nikhil Melnechuk and Melissa Jackson team up with acclaimed singer/songwriter Morgan Wade to direct the official music video for her hit new song, “Hardwood Floor.”
THE EASY KIND returns to Nashville, TN with a blowout screening and album release celebration, with a special appearance by Elizabeth Cook and members of the film team.
